Road to Resilience
How do I know?
Because I've dealt with the chaos of my spouse's complex trauma (CPTSD) and post-traumatic stress (PTSD)
...and I'm here to help you find the calm you need and deserve so you can weather the relationship storms and take care of you — even when you're scared that nothing will ever change.
Road to Resilience is an online, 8-week, small-group coaching and support program specifically for loved ones of trauma survivors.
When I discovered my husband had complex PTSD I felt:
🫣 Fear → What if he doesn't seek treatment or if treatment doesn't work?
😖 Frustration → Our relationship seems broken and I don't know how to fix it - what if nothing changes?
😔 Worry → I'm afraid he won't ever heal or he'll hurt himself...or....SO much worry & uncertainty!
💔 Hurt → He can't love me the way I need right now - will he ever be able to?
🥹 Shame → How can I worry about myself when HE is the one who's suffering?!
Anyone dealing with a loved one's trauma knows this range of emotions, uncertainty, and stress.
Thank goodness there is so much more information, resources, healing modalities, and therapies available today for people with PTSD, OSI and complex trauma (CPTSD).
The truth is, it’s downright difficult to find support and resources for the spouses, partners, and loved ones of people who struggle with trauma residue.
The stress and dysregulation create a terribly lonely, isolating, uncomfortable, and frustrating journey that few people understand....
After my own journey through the fear and chaos of living with (and loving) my partner with CPTSD, I’ve assembled the best tools and healing techniques to help people like you who are travelling the same road.
I want you to know this doesn’t have to be a journey of desperation and despair...together, we can make it a journey of hope and healing.
NOTE: Carla requires this 30 minute call so you can connect and ask each other questions to make sure that it's a good fit.
Carla will only accept you into the program if she's confident that it will support you. If it won't, she will help you find resources that will.
"Carla is alert and attuned to our needs especially when we are not. She compassionately challenges us to give ourselves the loving care we need to move forward and grow.
I especially appreciate her honesty and sincerity; she doesn't sugarcoat anything. In my experience, she was able to create a safe, nurturing atmosphere from the get-go that fostered openness and curiosity in each of us."
- Anonymous, Road to Resilience Coaching Program Participant
"What Carla's doing is important. When your partner suffers trauma, it impacts your marriage and your family. Because of my husband’s line of work, I see a lot of partners suffering. Marriages falling apart. There’s a lot of collateral damage that people don’t really talk about. But, sweeping it under the rug isn't helpful. There's a real need for this work and I hope the people who are ready for healing will find their way to her."
- Christine, Road to Resilience Coaching Program Participant
"For anyone who is living with a partner with ptsd, this group process is so helpful in understanding trauma, its affects on us, our families and on our partners. The Road to Resilience provided me with knowledge, self regulating tools and a support group so that I could put my experience in perspective and make decisions about my life with clarity. I'm thankful I found Carla."
- Pamela H. — Road to Resilience Coaching Program Participant
"This program has been faster and more effective for me than any counselling Iv done this far. Tapping feels like magic for my brain fog!"

“What do I do if my (husband, wife, spouse, partner, child) has PTSD or complex trauma?”
How many times have you Googled that phrase?
I’ve probably searched that or other variations a few thousand times.
Here’s my story:
Over 10 years ago, our family was thrown a curve ball when my spouse, Murray, was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which I later learned was actually complex trauma.
It was a challenging and scary time for me - and really for both of us, as partners and parents.
And, while I’m grateful that Murray could access the help he needed, I was completely in the dark and my nervous system was ringing alarm bells for me.
As a partner of a trauma survivor working on healing PTSD/complex trauma (CPTSD), I felt isolated, unsupported, and overwhelmed.
I was often activated or shut down, and my emotional and nervous system state was threatening my marriage and affecting how I was showing up as a parent.
I was feeling pretty helpless and hopeless.
But I’m naturally optimistic and resourceful. So I rolled up my sleeves and started researching all the things I could do to get back to the old me, understand CPTSD, repair my relationship, and better support my family.
I did a LOT of reading and numerous trainings and courses!
I tried finding help and support everywhere: my physician, local mental health nurses, a life coach, therapists, and alternative healing practitioners and practices — but many of them couldn’t understand my experience.
You name it, I've probably tried it.
And over time I found the right combination of coaching, therapies, somatic modalities, and nervous system support that began to work for me.
The darkness and heaviness inside of me lifted.
I started to feel like my old self again.
I began to heal from the grief of losing the life I thought I’d have, and embrace the possibilities that post-traumatic growth can offer.
I felt hope for my future and my family again.
I now have resources to navigate my nervous system, manage my own emotions, and support my family.
And when *stuff* starts to hit the fan (because it always does), I have strategies and resources to find my calm again.
It breaks my heart that so many loved ones are out there searching for help as they navigate the often lonely road of loving and supporting someone with post-traumatic stress (PTSD/OSI) or complex trauma (cPTSD).
So I've made it my personal mission to hold space for and support others in a way that I wish I could have had while I was struggling.
And I invite you to walk alongside me on this road.

"Honestly, I'm not sure I would have made it this far in my relationship. Not that staying with your partner is the 'top' goal necessarily, but for me I feel like without the guidance and tools that I received throughout the process, I would not have been able to find my way. I think that I would most likely still be feeling extremely lost and depressed, not that I don't still at times, but I know that there is progress, and that little by little the change that I wanted is manifesting in my life.."

"If you're ready to focus on yourself and your own role in the PTSD journey, then I would recommend working with Carla. It's not about fixing your partner. It's about you looking after you."

Founder of Rising Into Resilience and creator of the Road to Resilience Group Coaching & Healing Program
Carla's Credentials:
I spent my life seeking growth, adventure, and self improvement.
FINALLY, in my mid-40s, I started to feel like I was living in joy & alignment... it's not too late for you, my friend. 🙂
As a natural born coach/cheerleader, I’ve always found myself in roles where I’m looking out for the well-being of others, including managing support services for Canadian & International Peacekeepers in Bosnia & Afghanistan...
I’ve spent nearly 5 years coaching and hosting in-person transformational retreats for women in mid-life, and for the last several years, as founder of Rising Into Resilience, I've used my training as an Emotional Success Specialist, Master EFT Practitioner, and Somatic Stress Release Practitioner to hold space for, guide, and support hundreds of amazing humans (like you!) who are in relationships with loved ones who've experienced trauma.
I have a lot to share with you, my friend!
15 years ago I embarked on one of the hardest, and yet most gratifying, journeys: the birth of my son...and the untimely emergence of my husband’s complex trauma symptoms a couple years later.
At times it was a gruelling journey, I’m not going to lie.
But I eventually found resources and techniques that gave me immediate relief. I learned how to manage my boundaries, which improved my relationship and helped me better interact with and support my spouse.
I can say in all honesty, we have a truly wonderful life together today.
Not without bumps, but we're so much better equipped to navigate those now!
In Road to Resilience, I share the exact tools and strategies I used to:
✅ understand my nervous system and consistently self- and co-regulate ✨
✅ recognize and respond effectively to my loved one's PTSD and complex trauma symptoms 🚧
✅ release my sadness, grief, frustration, self-judgment, and overwhelm 😌
✅ learn how to better communicate and support my partner, repair ruptures, and resolve conflicts 🌼
✅ find a path to peace, and freedom from chaos and uncertainty 💛
Know this my friend: there is light and hope at the end of this road for you.
My road led me here: to integrate my training as a coach and facilitator with my personal experience in relationship with a trauma survivor. My road led me here to support you... 💟
"Carla is a knowledgeable, astute guide on my personal journey to move beyond my traumatic experiences. She meets me exactly where I am and helps me feel safe enough to be present to my physical and emotional sensations, to explore my beliefs, to develop/repair my relationship to myself."
- Sarah, Private Client & Road to Resilience Participant whose loved one had complex/developmental trauma
"Carla entered into my life at a time were I was kinda lost. I was really struggling with who I am and how to grow and love the relationships in my life. Carla and I really connected, I felt like she really understood me. She helped me understand the most important relationship! That was with myself! In order to be present and the best for those people I needed to Love me first! Carla was able to help me create a way for me to come back to me , take a moment , take a breath and understand the only approval I need is mine ! And with that my relationships around me have gotten stronger! Life is busy and crazy but it's important to take time each day to pause, just do me and LOVE me!"
- R, Private Coaching Client
"If I didn’t work with Carla, I would still struggle and still be in chaos.
But now, after working with Carla, if I feel things are going a little crazy, I can step back and reframe and refocus.
I can fall back on the process that Carla taught. She really helps to put your life back in order. Not to let the chaos and stress overwhelm you."
- Lauretta
"I think all the laughter we all had surprised me, I felt so happy hearing the other stories and experiences that the other people in our program were going through. It was just great to not feel so alone in this. I think the happiest thing was that, I am actually feeling better, like this actually really helped, seems obvious, but it's not always the case with these types of things and I'm so glad that it was the case with this one."
- Anonymous, Road to Resilience Participant
NOTE: Carla requires this 15-30 minute call so that you can connect and ask each other questions to make sure that it's a good fit. Carla will only accept you into the program if she's confident that it will support you.
If it won't, she will help you find other resources that will.
Your loved one (spouse, partner, parent, child, friend) is struggling with trauma symptoms (e.g. emotional reactivity, dyregulated nervous system, shutdown/dissociation, flashbacks, etc.) and you're not sure how to manage it. Whether your loved one has a diagnosis or not, this program can help!
You’re beginning to feel the stress and acknowledging your OWN nervous system dysregulation — noticing symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression
You find yourself isolating, pulling away from friends & family, or turning to coping mechanisms like zoning out in the digital word, using substances such as alcohol, drugs, food, or engaging in other distractions (overworking, micro-managing, co-dependence) to numb your pain
You’ve been on the hunt to find solutions to help your partner, but putting your own physical/emotional/spiritual/mental health on the back burner and forgetting to look after you
You’re not ready to give up on yourself or your partner, but you don't want to endure any more suffering (or make things worse!)
You feel like you might be at a relationship crossroads, but you're willing to try anything to get back to your old self and move forward (hopefully together!) Heaven knows, you’ve tried almost everything you can find already...
You aren’t open-minded and willing to consider new perspectives and approaches
You’re not ready or don't believe it's possible to shift your focus to working on yourself (or worse, you don't believe you deserve to grow and heal!)
You've been diagnosed with a mental health condition or are dealing with your own active trauma for which you are NOT seeking professional help outside this program
You require a high level of individual support or feel that you will not feel safe experiencing the intensity of your emotions without one-on-one support (please visit our website www.risingintoresilience.com for private coaching options)
You are offended by occasional cursing (ONLY occasional, but I have been known to use a curse word from time-to-time)
Are you ready to begin your journey on the
Road to Resilience?
NOTE: Carla requires this 15-30 minute call so that you can connect and ask each other questions to make sure that it's a good fit. Carla will only accept you into the program if she's confident that it will support you.

EACH WEEK:
BONUSES:
Here’s a snapshot of some of the topics we’ll cover each week in the Road to Resilience program:
2. HOW DO I KNOW IF MY LOVED ONE HAS TRAUMA, PTSD or COMPLEX TRAUMA?
If you suspect your partner is struggling with post-traumatic stress or complex trauma (also known as developmental/relational trauma), the best way to know for sure is to see your familly doctor or a mental health professional.
Ultimately, if your loved one is exhibiting some of the symptoms shown in the graphic below, it is possible they have PTSD, an operational stress injury, or complex trauma. Although an official diagnosis must come from a mental health professional, there are numerous things you and your loved one can do to minimize the symptoms they are experiencing.
Complex trauma is not currently a diagnosis in North America; however, many health care professionals are learning more about CPTSD and can support your loved one to find suitable support systems and develop a suitable treatment plan, if they're open to that. My personal recommendation is a plan that includes somatic (body-based) modalities for healing trauma and coping with nervous system dysregulation, including supports such as EFT tapping, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (parts work), mindfulness and compassion,
If your loved one is a veteran, first responder, emergency services or corrections personnel, gently and lovingly suggest they speak to their human resources department to see what mental health assessment services are available.
If you or your loved one is in crisis, please dial 911 or contact your local Crisis Support Line immediately.
If your loved one is feeling fearful & threatened at the thought of speaking to someone, there are various self-assessments available online. The PTSD Association of Canada has a few on their self-assessments page.
If you're here, it means you're struggling and seeking solutions — Road to Resilience can help regardless of whether your loved one is diagnosed or receiving treatment. Give it a try, you've got nothing to lose.
3. ISN'T IT MY PARTNER/LOVED ONE THAT NEEDS HELP?
I hear you.
When I was embarking on our journey with PTSD, I was so focused on helping my partner heal, that I let my own self-care go on the back burner….which can have devastating results for your own mental health and well-being (it did for me).
I was experiencing chronic stress and I started check out, pull away, feel isolated, and burn out.
Over time, this can lead heightened stress responses of your own and an over-activated nervous system, often know as secondary trauma, vicarious trauma, caregiver burnout, or compassion fatigue. It can negatively affect our relationships and how we interact with our children and community.
In my experience (and I've supported hundreds of clients through this), understanding your own emotional triggers, reactions, beliefs, and patterns can be the best way to serve and support our loved ones.
You spend so much of your energy caring for and supporting your loved one; I’ve created this space to care for and support YOU.
Maybe it's time to support yourself to implement the nervous system regulation strategies, healthy communication techniques, conflict repair, and co-regulation that will help your loved one heal.
4. WHAT'S THE COST OF THE PROGRAM? DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS? WHAT ABOUT A MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE?
The cost to join the program is $1,397 USD, which can be paid in full or split into 2 or 3 payments (at no extra cost).
I acknowledge that this is a big investment for people, and I totally understand why people are concerned, especially in these troubling times. You've probably also bought other courses and tried many therapies that have come up short....what if this doesn't help?
To work privately with me starts at $175/hour; working with other trauma coaches or therapists costs between $150-200 per hour - and you usually need MONTHS of sessions to see the kind of transformation people experience in this program!
In Road to Resilience, you receive:
‼️ TOTAL VALUE OF $6,800 for just $1,397‼️
Plus the extra bonuses that we haven't calculated into this value:
— bonus modules, discounted sessions, private encrypted connection group, Voice Memo coaching, free December workshop, and more!
I want you to receive timely support, so if you're struggling now, I want you to get support now, before more harmful patterns take root.
In the spirit of that, I also offer additional, customized payment plans upon request. We can chat about it in your Application/Invitation call.
I’m so confident that you’ll see a transformation that I offer a 30-day money back guarantee.
If you find the program and teachings aren’t for you, we'll connect privately to discuss, and I will support you to receive a full refund if that's what will serve you best.
If you have more questions, or want to chat with me to see if we’re a fit, I’d be delighted to hop on a call with you.
I can’t wait to chat with you!
(Program begins on Monday, December 2nd)
